Guidelines

These guidelines sit alongside the terms. They describe what is acceptable when you use Thunderstruck, publish a server, or configure the bot for a community.

Follow Discord's rules

Thunderstruck is a tool for communities on Discord. Anything you do with it still has to follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. The bot is not a way around a Discord ban, a raid, or a restriction on a server.

Moderation and security

Use warns, timeouts, kicks, bans, automod, auto-purge, auto-ban, anti-raid, anti-nuke and verification checks to protect a server you are allowed to moderate. Configure those tools so they match that server's rules, and avoid using them to harass members or to target people outside the server's own moderation. The website verification type may refuse VPNs, alternate accounts and connections already used by a banned member.

The person who adds the bot is responsible for who else can change its settings.

Listings, profiles and templates

Public server listings, profiles and templates must describe the real server, person or setup. Mark adult servers as NSFW. Listings may not advertise scams, malware, harassment or anything that breaks Discord's rules.

A profile is private until you make it public. A public bio is visible to anyone with the link, so keep personal contact details out of it unless you want them shared.

Birthdays

Birthdays are optional. A member saves their own date with a command, and a year only if they want an age shown. Do not make a birthday a requirement to take part in the server.

Starboard

Starboard copies a message into another channel once enough members star it. The copy is removed when the original message is deleted. Do not use it to harass someone.

Reviews

Reviews should be honest and about a real experience. Do not post fake reviews, pay or reward members only for good ratings, or use reviews to harass a staff member. Staff may reject or delete reviews that break the server's rules.

Suggestions

Suggestions should be about the server. Do not use them to harass someone or to post something that breaks the server's rules. Staff may accept, deny or delete a suggestion. An anonymous suggestion still shows the author to staff.

Tickets, applications and giveaways

Ask only for information a server actually needs. Giveaway requirements, application questions and ticket forms should be clear to members before they submit anything.

Reminders

A reminder is optional. A member sets their own with a command, and it is sent when the time arrives. Do not set a reminder for someone else in order to harass them.

Autoresponders

A reply should match what a member asked. Do not set a trigger so broad that it answers ordinary chat, and do not use a reply to harass someone.

The dashboard and the service

Use the dashboard for servers you manage, or where you were added as a bot master. Probing the site for other people's servers, tokens or private configuration, and interfering with the bot's availability, is not allowed.

These guidelines work with the terms and privacy policy.
