How to set up Thunderstruck, who can change it, and how to use each module.

Getting started

Three steps from an empty server to a configured one.

  1. STEP 1

    Add the bot

Use Add to server and pick the server. The bot needs to be in the server before the dashboard can change it.

  2. STEP 2

    Log in with Discord

Sign in with the account that owns the server, has Manage Server, or has been added as a bot master.

  3. STEP 3

    Open the server

My servers lists every server that account can open. Pick one, turn modules on, and save. Changes apply straight away.

Who can change settings

The dashboard checks the member's real permissions in that server on every request.

  • Server owner

Can change every module, including Anti Nuke and the bot master list.

  • Manage Server

Can open the dashboard and change modules. Cannot change Anti Nuke.

  • Bot master

A member or role chosen on the Bot Masters page. They can open the dashboard and use the bot's commands. They cannot edit the bot master list or Anti Nuke.

Modules

Each server turns on only the modules it uses. Open a module for how to set it up. A module that is off does not run for that server.

Community

Run support, growth and the day-to-day life of the server.

Tickets

Private support tickets with transcripts. Extra requests can wait in a queue.

Global Chat

Link a channel to every other server that has Global Chat on. Messages sent there show up in all of them, with the sender's name, picture and server. Block users or servers you do not want to see.

Giveaways

Button giveaways with requirements, bonus entries, drops, pauses and rerolls. Running ones can be viewed on the website.

Starboard

The bot adds a star emoji to each post. Members click it, and once enough have, the message is posted with a button that adds or removes a star.

Reviews

Members rate your services, products and staff from 1 to 5 stars and leave a comment. Staff can check reviews before they are posted.

Suggestions

Members submit ideas in a channel. Others vote with buttons, and staff accept or deny them.

Polls

Post a question with choices. Members vote with buttons, and the poll can close on its own.

Leveling

Members earn XP by chatting or sitting in a voice channel, level up, and can receive role rewards.

Economy

Members claim a daily, weekly and monthly, with extra coins for chosen roles. They buy tools and shop items, and fishing, hunting, digging, and searching fill an inventory.

Games

Tic-tac-toe, snakes and ladders, Connect Four, hangman, blackjack and other games played with buttons.

Fun

Jokes, ratings, coin flips and the other /fun commands. Turn the module off to stop all of them, or turn each command on or off.

Birthdays

Members save a date, and the bot posts a birthday message each day. A role can be given out for that day.

Reminders

Members set a time and a note. The bot DMs them, or posts it in a channel, when it is due.

AFK

Members mark themselves away. Mentions get a reply, and their next message brings them back.

Applications

Staff applications with custom questions. Members apply with a Discord form, in a direct message, or on the website.

Track who invited each member, count joins and leaves, and post invite messages.

Only someone with Manage Server can change this.

Commands

Everything is a slash command. Type / in Discord to see the ones this server has turned on.

Each module page lists its commands. Turning one off leaves it in Discord, and the bot replies that it is disabled. A command locked off for every server cannot be switched back on from the dashboard.

Message variables

Greetings, embeds, tickets and other messages can include these codes in any text box, including embed icons, thumbnails and images. A code with nothing to fill in is left as written.

CodeFills in
{user}Mentions the member.
{username}Their username.
{userid}Their user ID.
{usericon}A link to their avatar. Use it in an icon, thumbnail or image box.
{userbanner}A link to their banner, when Discord has already shared it.
{server}The server name.
{serverid}The server ID.
{servericon}A link to the server icon.
{serverbanner}A link to the server banner, when the server has one.
{boticon}A link to the bot's avatar.
{count}The member count.
{boosts}The number of server boosts.
{channel}The channel.
{moderator}The moderator.
{moderatoricon}A link to the moderator's avatar.
{reason}The reason, or “No reason given”.
{roles}The roles named in that message.
{type}The kind of event, such as a ticket type.
{number}A ticket or case number.

Some modules add their own codes, and those are listed on that module's page. Birthdays can use {age} when a year was saved. Leveling messages can use {level}. Invite and stream messages use their own lists.

Bot permissions

Adding the bot requests only the permissions its modules use, such as managing roles, channels and members. It does not request Administrator. Keep the bot's role above any role it needs to give or take away.

If a save fails because a channel is missing Send Messages, Manage Roles or a similar permission, grant that permission to the bot in the channel or on the role and save again.

Support

Questions about setup, a module, or a command can go to the support server.
